Kook & Son were very responsive to our needs. Our 3 year old flushed a toy phone down toilet and the phone couldn’t be removed without taking the toilet apart. Originally scheduled for tomorrow - owner was able to reroute a tech for today. Tech was fast, quiet, clean, and efficient. Fixed the toilet, re installed it, and got the toy phone out without issue. Excellent service!!!

Howard and his team really offered us a white-glove experience in a challenging time. While they were not the cheapest quote we received to repair our water heater, they seemed the most experienced, knowledgeable and professional of the bunch. The team was on time, clean and professional while my wife and I had to work from home during the replacement.

When it was about time to replace a pair of water booster pumps in our 12-unit condominium building I selected Kook & Son among three different vendors I had invited to provide a quote for the contemplated work because I thought that Kook's offer was not necessarily the cheapest but the best value for what we expected. The installation turned out to exceed my expectations both in terms of quality of labor and improvement to our building. Howard, the owner, was involved along the way and I appreciated that he took time to address my initial questions and concerns on the phone and also via email throughout the process. I picked Kook & Son then also for the installation of a natural gas line to feed our barbecue grills on our roof deck. That work was completed equally well. I would pick Kook & Son again for all other plumbing or gas work in our building.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness Kook & Son were prompt, efficient, and the repairs are solid. While a little expensive, I'm willing to pay it for quality work. The plumber was also good about explaining the issue and showing me the problem, which is important to me when choosing a plumber.

Howard and his team did a great job installing a full split ductless AC system in my 5th floor condo building in downtown Jersey City. Three air handlers and one exterior wall mount units, Mitsubishi hyper heat and AC system. They are a diamond dealer as well. I am quite particular about analyzing cost and doing my due diligence. Spent a lot of time asking questions and Howard was able to be patient and addressed them all. It was a complicated install, but Howard and his team took their time to plan out precisely where the units would go. Regardless of the challenges encountered; they were able to work through all of them. This was an expensive job, but totally worth it.. Props to Howard and his team getting the install done properly.

Kook & Son installed a new AC/heat pump system into a home that is way over 100 years old. At all times everyone from Kook was professional, courteous and thorough. They completed the substantial amount of install work in consecutive days, without interruption. Even prior to our purchase decision, Howard Kook gave us extensive advice and presented solutions that were realistic, reasonable and without apparent bias. The installers, Pierre and Manny, listened to me, addressed my concerns, and came up with solutions that worked for all parties involved. I feel that Kook & Son did the project right.

I have worked with Kook and Son for about 5 years now. They are a cut above the rest. Howard and his crew did a superb job of diagnosing the cause of a leak in my second floor bathroom. Other plumbers were never able to diagnose the problem which was identified correctly by Howard as being caused by a faulty floor pan, which was installed by another plumber 10 years earlier, to fix the problem necessitated a complete shower renovation with a new floor pan.

The guys came did the demo work neatly and even saved some of the old tiles to repair another area in the Bathroom. My new shower looks fantastic and no more leaks, for the first time in years!

Howard is a true gentleman who knows his craft, his people are excellent, his pricing is reasonable, and the workmanship is great.

I have since called on Kook and Son for many more projects from sink repairs, to heating malfunctions. Kook and Son's should be your first call every time.

I have been living in Jersey City for 24 years and I have used many other plumbers before Kook and Son, to say Howard's company is one of the best plumbing contractors in Jersey City is exemplified by the fact that they have been in business for decades, they are professional, and prompt, and once they have fixed a problem it stays fixed.

Plumbing may not be glamorous but when you have no heat, or leaking pipes you come to appreciate the value that Kook and Son's brings.

We bought an old home and Kook & Son have been here to help from the start. Howard kindly visited our property personally to put together a proposal for the HVAC. Askash, the plumber was great. He was both knowledgeable and patient fixing and explaining about our radiator heating. I have to also mention Diane who is the executive assistant. She is so professional and efficient on getting the help I need. I'm so happy I found this company!

We’ve used Kook and Son exclusively over close to 15 years in multiple residences because of their professionalism, promptness and the quality of their work. The technicians are also trained in current equipment (tankless water heaters, high efficiency furnaces, etc)

In our most recent engagement our tankless hot water heater developed a leak overnight. I called Kook around 9 am and they were able to get someone there that morning even though the techs were already at another job (great in and of itself!). The technician then worked with the manufacturer to troubleshoot and determined that the unit needed to be replaced and was under warranty.

This is where Kook really shined: the manufacturer needed to review pictures of the unit, where the leak was, etc. before approving the claim and allowing us to get a replacement unit so there was no way to schedule an appointment with Kook since we didn’t know specifically when we’d get that info from the manufacturer. Kook worked with us over the two days it took getting the manufacturer the info they needed and made technicians available the minute I was emailed the return authorization. They arrived within a couple of hours with the replacement unit (again, without a previously made appointment), replaced the defective unit and had hot water up and running again in a few hours. Howard Kook, the owner, also called me personally several times to let me know they were on the case, working with their staffing to ensure someone would be available when needed, etc. since he understood that being without hot water, even briefly, is a big problem and he didn’t want us to worry that we weren’t being attended to in the background even as we waited for the return authorization to take the next step. We have and continue to give Kook and Son our highest recommendation.

Fantastic experience with Kook & Son! Howard Kook visited my place personally to assess a broken water heater and within half an hour his crew showed up with a replacement and installed it. Anthony and Akash were a crack team, expertly re-piping the system to accommodate the new water heater, circulator, and mixing valve.

Equally important to me though, as a single mom with a 7th grade son, having total strangers inside my apartment often makes me a little nervous- especially total male strangers. The two plumbers Mr. Kook sent, Akash and Anthony, were both dreams! I instantly felt that I was in good hands and, moreover, I felt safe.

This may mean nothing to some reading this review, but I've had other encounters with men technicians who would make offhand remarks, let a hand stray, etc... all of which I would deflect. As some readers may relate to, this is not fun.

Having Anthony and Akash on the job, however, was fun. Anthony was easy-going, relaxed, personable, put me at ease, and was very funny. Akash was a perfect sidekick, the classic steady mellow dude. What a terrific team!

PS. And they didn't make or leave a mess!
